About Exelderm

What is Exelderm?

Exelderm is an antifungal medication that is prescribed to treat skin infections such as ringworm, athlete’s foot, and jock itch. It works by killing the fungus that causes these problems.

How do I take Exelderm?

Exelderm is administered as a topical cream or lotion that is applied directly to the affected area. While individual usage may vary, it is typically applied once or twice a day for two to four weeks. However, some conditions may require a longer treatment period. Only the cream is used to treat athlete’s foot. Follow the instructions of your doctor regarding use. Thoroughly clean and dry the target area and allow it to dry. Gently massage just enough of the medication to cover the affected area into the skin until it almost disappears. Wash hands after application.

What if I forget to take a dose of Exelderm?

If you forget to apply your scheduled dose of Exelderm, do so as soon as your remember and are able. However, if it is almost time for the next scheduled application, skip the one missed and resume the regular schedule. Do not increase dosage or change the regimen to make up for one that was missed.

What happens if I overdose on Exelderm?

Exelderm is for topical use only. If it is accidentally ingested contact the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. If the individual has stopped breathing or lost consciousness, contact Emergency Services at 911.

Before taking Exelderm, tell your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to sulconazole or any of the ingredients in Exelderm

  • You are pregnant, planning a pregnancy, or are nursing a child

  • You are taking any prescription or non-prescription medications, vitamins, or supplements

What are the possible side effects of taking Exelderm?

Some people have reported side effects after using Exelderm. Immediately contact your healthcare provider if you experience burning, irritation, itching, stinging, rash, redness, or signs of an allergic reaction (hives, swelling of the face, mouth, lips, throat, or tongue, or difficulty breathing or swallowing).

How do I store Exelderm?

Keep Exelderm tightly sealed in its original container, out of the reach of the reach of children and away from extremes of temperature and humidity. Do not allow the solution or the cream to freeze. Dispose of any unused medication according to the instructions of your pharmacist.
