About Sulindac

Sulindac is a generic, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that comes in tablet form and it works to relieve pain, swelling, stiffness caused by rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, and certain other conditions by blocking certain substances in the body that are associated with causing inflammation, fever, and pain.

Sulindac may also be prescribed to patients to help to reduce the number of polyps in the colon and rectum in patients that have familial adenomatous polyposis.

How do I use Sulindac?

Sulindac comes in tablet form to be taken orally, usually twice daily and with food. Consult with your doctor for specific directions on using this drug.

What if I forget to use a dose of Sulindac?

Take your missed dose of Sulindac as soon as your remember to take it, unless it is almost time for the next dose. If this is the case, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dose schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

What happens if I overdose on Sulindac?

In case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention or call Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) to find out what to do.

Symptoms of overdose may include:
