About QuilliChew ER

Methylphenidate, the active ingredient in QuilliChew ER, is a central nervous system stimulant. Drugs in this class are believed to help treat the symptoms of ADHD by affecting brain chemicals associated with hyperactivity and impulse control.

Take QuilliChew ER once daily in the morning, with or without food. Fully chew your tablet before swallowing it. Your doctor will base your dose on your condition and response to treatment, so follow the instructions on the prescription label carefully. Tablets come in 20mg, 30mg, and 40mg strengths, and the 20mg and 30mg tablets are scored so that they can be split in half if needed.

Take the missed dose once you remember, unless it’s after 6 pm. Taking a dose too late in the day may make it difficult to sleep, so in this case, skip the missed dose and take your next dose at the normal time the next morning. Don’t double your dose to make up for a missed one.

Signs of a drug overdose on QuilliChew ER may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, severe agitation, tremors or muscle twitching, euphoria, an irregular heart rate, excessive sweating, and hallucinations. Taking too much of this medication can be fatal, so if you believe that you or someone in your home has overdosed, get emergency medical attention.

Before taking QuilliChew ER, tell your doctor if:

· You have any food or drug allergies

· You are taking any prescription or non-prescription drugs, supplements, or vitamins

· You have used an MAO inhibitor in the past 14 days

· You have glaucoma

· You have severe anxiety

· You have a personal or family history of Tourette’s syndrome or muscle tics

· You have high blood pressure or heart problems

· You have a history of mental illness or substance abuse

· You have a seizure disorder

· You have had an abnormal brain wave test

· You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or planning a pregnancy

QuilliChew ER may cause insomnia if you take it too late in the day. Other common side effects include loss of appetite, nausea, stomach pain, headache, nervousness, and irritability. Stop taking QuilliChew ER and call your doctor right away if you experience hallucinations, chest pain, severe lightheadedness, difficulty breathing, muscle twitches, vision changes, numbness or discoloration in your fingers or toes, muscle pain or weakness, seizures, or an erection lasting more than four hours. This isn’t a complete list of possible side effects; monitor all adverse effects and tell your doctor if any conditions concern you.

Store QuilliChew ER in a secure place at room temperature (68 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit). Keep it away from pets, children, and anyone with a history of substance abuse. If you no longer need this medication but have leftover tablets, call your pharmacist to find out how to safely dispose of them.

Warnings

Don’t drink alcohol while taking QuilliChew ER; alcohol may cause this extended-release medicine to be released into your bloodstream too quickly, which can lead to adverse effects. Never take more of this medication than has been prescribed; QuilliChew ER has a high potential for abuse.

Brand Names

QuilliChew ER is only available as a brand name drug, which is part of the reason it is so expensive. To bring the price of QuilliChew ER down, get a free coupon from FamilyWize now.
