About Micardis Hct

What is Micardis HCT?

Micardis HCT is a combination drug that contains both telmisartan and hydrochlorothiazide. Telmisartan is an angiotensin II blocker, meaning it works by inhibiting the effects of the angiotensin II enzyme which increases blood pressure by causing the blood vessels to contract. Hydrochlorothiazide is a diuretic drug, and it helps to lower blood pressure by reducing blood plasma volume which reduces strain on the heart and blood vessels.
