About Mimvey

What is Mimvey?

Mimvey is a hormone replacement drug. It contains an estrogen and a progestin (two female hormones) and may be prescribed during menopause, a time when women’s production of these hormones drops off. This medication can help reduce the frequency and severity of hot flashes, relieve vaginal irritation, and reduce the risk of bone loss.

How do I take Mimvey?

Take one Mimvey tablet per day. To make it easier to remember, try to take it at the same time every day. Check in with your doctor every three to six months to determine if you should continue taking the same dosage of the Mimvey drug.

What if I forget to take a dose of Mimvey?

You should take Mimvey once a day at the same time every day, but if you forget, take it as soon as you remember. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed one and continue with your regular dosage schedule.

What happens if I overdose on Mimvey?

If you or someone in your household overdoses on the Mimvey drug, call Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222. If the person who overdose is experiencing serious side effects, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.

What are the possible side effects of taking Mimvey?

Mimvey sometimes causes headaches, nausea, vomiting, irregular vaginal bleeding (spotting), breast tenderness, bloating or weight gain, abdominal cramps, temporary hair loss, depressed mood, and back pain. If you experience any side effects that last a long time or are bothersome, tell your doctor. Call your doctor immediately if you have any of the following rare but serious side effects: breast lumps, lightheadedness and fainting, difficulty breathing, severe migraines, severe chest pain, leg pains, changes in vision or speech, coughing up blood, or sudden weakness on one side of the body.

How do I store Mimvey?

Keep Mimvey at room temperature, out of reach of any children or pets in your home. You should also keep your medication away from heat and moisture (i.e. do not store it in the bathroom). If you have unused or expired medication, ask your pharmacist how to safely dispose of it.

Do not eat grapefruit while take Mimvey; grapefruit and estradiol may interact and cause certain side effects. Talk to your doctor about your medical history and individual risk factors, as Mimvey may increase your risk for heart attacks, strokes, blood clots, and some kinds of cancer.

“I have been able to afford and purchase my prescribed medications for prices much better than using my insurance. I am trying to understand how that is possible. Anyway, I highly recommend”
