Migranal Coupon & Discounts

Save on Migranal at your pharmacy with the free discount below.

Migranal is a prescription nasal spray used to treat moderate to severe migraine headaches. It does not prevent migraines altogether, but it can alleviate migraine pain, nausea, and sensitivity to light for up to 24 hours. Unfortunately, the Migranal cost can be very high if an insurance provider or patient assistance program doesn’t cover the medication. The price of Migranal is often $3,000 or more for a nasal spray bottle and eight single-dose vials of liquid solution. A Migranal coupon or discount card from FamilyWize can help you reduce the drug’s retail price considerably so that you can get more affordable migraine relief. Click ‘Claim Discount’ to print or download a Migranal coupon that can be used at most US pharmacies and is good for up to 80% off. By clicking ‘Free Card’ and entering your address, you can also get a prescription discount card for Migranal and over 50,000 other qualifying medications.

About Migranal

What is Migranal?

Migranal is in the ergot alkaloid class of drugs. It has been proven to relieve migraine headaches with or without aura, and it is believed to work by narrowing blood vessels in the brain and blocking certain pain pathways. It should not be used to treat common tension headaches.

How do I take Migranal?

Carefully follow the instructions on the medication label to attach a single-dose vial of Migranal to the nasal spray bottle. If you have questions about the directions, talk to your pharmacist. Once you have secured the vial in the bottle, face the spray nozzle away from you and push it down four times to prime the pump. It is okay if some of the medication sprays out. Once the pump is primed, place the tip of the nozzle inside your nostril and spray. Do not tilt your head back or inhale through your nose. Do the same with the other nostril. You should administer a total of four sprays to each nostril, waiting 15 minutes between each spray.

What if I forget to take a dose of Migranal?

Migranal should be taken at the first sign of a migraine headache, rather than on a set schedule, so forgetting a dose should not be an issue.

What happens if I overdose on Migranal?

You should never use more of the Migranal nasal spray than you have been prescribed. There is no proven benefit to taking more than a single dose in a 24-hour period. If you or someone in your household does use too much of the medication, contact Poison Control at 1-800-222-1222.

Before taking Migranal, tell your doctor if:

  • You are allergic to this or any other medications

  • You are taking any other prescription or non-prescription medications or supplements, especially any macrolide antibiotics or anti-HIV medications

  • You have high blood pressure or circulation problems

  • You have a history or family history of heart or artery problems

  • You are a smoker

  • You have kidney or liver disease

  • You get hemiplegic or basilar migraines

  • You are breastfeeding, pregnant, or trying to become pregnant

What are the possible side effects of taking Migranal?

Some people have reported minor nasal congestion, sore throat, dizziness, tiredness, a change in their sense of taste, nausea, or vomiting after taking Migranal. If you have any of these side effects and they become bothersome, tell your doctor. Call your doctor right away if you notice numbness in your fingers or toes, leg weakness, chest pain, muscle pain in your arms or legs, an irregular heartbeat, or signs of an allergic reaction.

How do I store Migranal?

Store Migranal at room temperature, away from bright light and moisture. Keep it out of reach of any children or pets in your home. Only open an individual vial of medication when you are ready to use it. Any open medication that has not been used after eight hours should be thrown away. If you are unsure how to properly dispose of this drug, talk to your pharmacist.

Warnings

If you get migraines on a daily basis, talk to your doctor about other medications. Migranal is not meant to treat chronic migraine pain on a daily basis. If your doctor does prescribe Migranal, avoid sniffing when you spray the medication in your nostrils. The drug needs to be absorbed into the bloodstream through the lining of the nasal cavities.

Brand Name

Migranal is a brand name drug. The makers of Migranal have also released a generic version of the drug, called dihydroergotamine mesylate. FamilyWize offers a coupon and discount card for Migranal and the generic form of the medication.

“I have been able to afford and purchase my prescribed medications for prices much better than using my insurance. I am trying to understand how that is possible. Anyway, I highly recommend”
