You should not cover the affected area with a bandage or other dressing unless your doctor has instructed you to do so. Because it is a potent steroid drug, halobetasol should not be used for more than two weeks at a time. If your symptoms do not improve after two weeks, tell your doctor.

What if I forget to apply a dose of halobetasol?

If you miss a dose of halobetasol, apply the missed dose as soon as you remember. It it’s almost time to apply your next dose, skip the missed dose and continue on your normal routine. Do not apply two consecutive doses or extra medication to try to compensate for a missed dose.
