About Felodipine

What is Felodipine?

Felodipine is a generic calcium channel blocker that comes as an extended-release tablet, and it is used to treat high blood pressure. This drug works by relaxing the blood vessels, allowing the blood to flow more easily through the blood vessels, and allowing the heart to not have to pump as hard.

How do I use Felodipine?

Felodipine extended-release tablets should be taken orally, and this drug is typically prescribed to be taken 1 time per day. Be sure to swallow the extended-release tablets whole. Do not split, chew, or crush extended-release tablets, as doing so may cause all of the medication to release into your body at once.

What if I forget to use a dose of Felodipine?

Take your missed dose of Felodipine as soon as your remember to take it, unless it is almost time for the next dose. If this is the case, skip the missed dose and resume the regular dose schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.

What happens if I overdose on Felodipine?

In case of overdose, call Poison Control (1-800-222-1222) to find out what to do, or seek immediate medical attention.
