How do I take Seasonique?

Pick a time of day when it is easiest for you to remember to take your birth control pill. Seasonique should be taken at the same time every day for it to be most effective. Take one pill per day until you finish the pack. If you are not switching over to Seasonique from another type of hormonal contraceptive, you will have to use back-up contraception for 7 days. Ask your doctor what is the best day to start taking Seasonique and how many days you need back-up contraception. What if I forget to take a dose of Seasonique?

If you forget to take Seasonique, take the missed pill as soon as you remember it and then continue on your regular routine. If it is already time for your next dose, take two pills at once. If you miss pills two days in a row, take two pills the day you remember and two pills the following day to catch up. If you miss two or more pills in a row, you will need to use back-up contraception for 7 days. If you miss more than two pills, ask your doctor what to do.

What happens if I overdose on Seasonique?

There have been no reports of serious adverse effects from Seasonique overdose. Signs of overdose may be similar to side effects. If someone has accidentally ingested a large amount of pills, call the Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222. If this is an emergency, call 911.
